Lincoln Museum

One of the things we've wanted to do while living in this area was visit the Lincoln Museum in Springfield. It would have been easier without the kids, but the day we thought would be good to do it did not jive with grandmas or grandpas being in town. So on Sunday we took off.

The museum itself isn't huge, but the exhibits are very well done. There are 2 movies, and we watched one of them. Even Stephen sat through it--it was only 10 minutes long.

Most of it was "no photography allowed," so I will show you some from the kid's area as well as the atrium.

Looks like you had a really fun time - and doesn't Abby look like she thinks she"s the "queen" sitting up high with her hands folded?

Did they supply the strollers? I would like to go as well, but would probably have to take the kids.

yes, they have both single and double strollers. we brought our own but they said it might not fit through some of the exhibits. they have a free coat check, too.

I think I went to the Lincoln House in Springfield. I should have gone to the Museum because that looks like fun. How's the move to S.A. going?

Well, since I'm 16 and Joe's 32, the museum wouldn't have been open yet when you lived in Illinois. It had a "dedicated 2002 by Gov Ryan" stone on it. We were marveling that it didn't say "Rod Blagojevich, Governor" anywhere like everything else around here does!
